Boyz II Men

When: Thu., Sept. 13, 7 p.m., Fri., Sept. 14, 8 p.m. and Sat., Sept. 15, 8 p.m. 2012
O lordy, this is an R&B lover’s dream come true. Boyz II Men may be the last of the great harmony groups, the last purveyors of a tradition that has been pretty much exterminated in the Auto-Tune-and-raging-egos era. Their ’90s hits — “On Bended Knee,” “End of the Road,” and “One Sweet Day” with the once-great Mariah Carey — have stood the test of time, and sound as fresh today as they did back then. So just imagine how fresh they’re going to sound in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center! We’re definitely in the habit of going to the Scherm just to listen to the room tone, so we’re pretty stoked to hear one of our favorite vocal groups of all time, especially since their backup singers will be our hometown orchestral heroes in the Nashville Symphony. A warning: We will most likely be bawling uncontrollably at least once per show — that’s how much we love these guys.
