Boo's Black History Blues

When: Saturdays, Sundays, 12 & 2 p.m. Continues through Feb. 13 2011
Phone: 476-6430
Price: $10 Adults; $7 Children
The prolific Mary McCallum and SistaStyle Productions celebrate Black History Month with the company’s first children’s show. The young heroine Boo loves watching TV — and hates it when her granny comes over to talk about important African-Americans like Jackie Robinson and Marian Anderson. Magically, Boo is transported to the Land of Awk, where black history has been banned. She finds her way home eventually but not before learning some important lessons. The cast features playwright McCallum, some veteran performers (Molly Breen, Alicia Haymer, Shawn Whitsell, Tobyus Green), and newer faces (Patti Nicole Wheeler, Isabella Jackson, Micah Robinson and Kysa Siovan).
