Can we be honest for a second? Kick some real talk for a minute? Even though we might be known for our jaded, cynical facade, we are not robots made from pure vitriol — we do in fact have emotions. Every time we hear BTNH’s “Crossroads” we can’t stop them from welling up and pouring over. See, we do have a heart! And an excuse for hanging out in the back of the room when Cleveland, Ohio’s greatest contribution to the rap game takes the stage at 12th & Porter. Not that we mind getting nostalgic with a big crowd — tracks like “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “1st of da Month” are certainly deserving of wistful reverence en mass — but if we hang out at the back and “Crossroads” comes on, we can at least maintain a tiny inkling of our street cred. Or not.
