He’s a fascinating example of an ultra-modern breakthrough star…as well as a comedian you love to hate. Shot in his Massachusetts bedroom, guitarist/pianist Burnham’s satirical, impossibly clever videos have racked up nearly 50 million YouTube hits to date. A mere two years in, he scored a deal with Comedy Central Records, which has released two brisk-selling Burnham albums in a 10-month span, as well as a spot at Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy festival. From Montreal, he landed on the radar of Judd Apatow, who promptly commissioned Burnham as an actor/writer/composer. He’s effortlessly harnessed DIY technology, shown up industry veterans with ease and has yet to celebrate his 20th birthday. All in all, Burnham is one of the most exciting young talents in the entire entertainment industry, and he and his musical geniusness can pretty much just go rot in hell.
