Bird Peterson

Junkyard Camp
With its adept blend of filter-house boogie and Texas rap swagger, Bird Peterson's 2007 album Hot Noise has become a staple of our listening diet, bringing us back to our rave-thug days. And while we might not be kicking sheetrock and selling the dust to candy kids under the guise that it’s whatever white powder they’re looking to buy these days, we can still get down with his crunked-up sound. Peterson rose to prominence through a series of blog-favorite mash-ups and remixes, but his best stuff has been relatively ignored by the bloggerati, which is frankly a gawdamn shame—for those of us that came up thinking that hip-hop and house were inseparable blood brothers, BP's four-on-the-floor crunk is required listening.
