Best Tennessean Columnist

Bruce Dobie

Writers Choice

Can somebody at 1100 Broadway make an honest man out of Dobie and just hire him as a full-time columnist? The ex-Scene editor knows the city, knows the players, and whenever he writes about politics — buried on the op-ed page — he generates more buzz than any 1100 columnist in any section has in years. The cardinal sin of a columnist is being irrelevant. And in Dobie, The Tennessean finally has someone who can’t be ignored.
