Kenyon's campy Dark Hunter series is the hottest thing going in the romance-horror genre. Though her lusty bloodsuckers are more Brooklyn hipster than Brentwood homemaker, Kenyon herself resembles the latter. A married mother of three, she still makes time to serve as room mother for her son's class. Though Kenyon now has legions of fans (called "Kenyon's Minions") and more than 15 million copies in print, her perseverance (she once went four years without selling a manuscript) and marketing skill (more than 40 percent of her readers are male) are an inspiration for genre writers of all stripes. —PAUL V.
