Sensuous Steel at The Frist

Writers Choice

This was the museum-going experience that made it OK to wolf-whistle. The 20 Art Deco-era cars and motorcycles that filled the Frist’s first-floor galleries turned multitudes of Nashville’s youth into future gearheads, and multitudes of gearheads into cooing, adoring children. Former Petersen Automotive Museum director Ken Gross curated the exhibition. And the Frist — with all the geometric designs, futuristic grandeur and sleek, sexy curves of the Art Deco movement — was the perfect venue.
