Best Local Rock Dandy

Jon Burr of How I Became the Bomb

A glistening pinky ring. A lithe coif of wavy blonde hair. White leather shoes with tiny gold buckles and occasionally even a spacesuit. These aren't the adornments of a West Hollywood pimp, but rather those of How I Became the Bomb frontman Jon Burr—and aside from the Bomb's synth-heavy, dance-beat ear candy, Burr's larger-than-life persona is the most colorful attribute they boast. Far be it from us to bandy about terms like "indie pop Liberace." But damn if Burr isn't tempting us. Right now, he's one Bedazzled cape away from full-blown 21st century Beau Brummel. —D.
