Best Happy Hour

Eastland Café

Everyone loves a cheap, stiff drink after a long day of work—something to relax the mind before a strenuous evening of shuffling between political calamity on MSNBC and human calamity on VH1's sideshow I Love Money. So what makes the $5 martini at Eastland Café better than the $5 cocktails available all around town? First off, they'll stuff your olives with blue cheese. Second, the Chapel Avenue corner restaurant throws in some cheap, tasty munchables. The happy hour menu offers an ever-changing assortment of dressed-up bar food—brick oven pizzas, spinach and chicken potstickers, zucchini fritto, housemade hummus—all at $5 a pop. Our only complaint: The deal ends at 6:30 p.m. In the warm-weather months, Eastland also hosts a monthly dog-friendly "Lappy Hour" on their back patio. —LEE STABERT
