Third Man Records’ Record Booth

Writers Choice

Jack White’s Third Man Records is a cornucopia of antiquated musical oddities, but a refurbished 1947 Voice-o-Graph machine (essentially an on-the-go recording booth that you can pump quarters into and cut a 6-inch phonograph disc) takes the cake. TMR debuted the booth during its Record Store Day festivities. Fans lined up all the way down the block to give it a whirl. One guy used it to record his last will and testament, while another cut a marriage proposal.
