Best Culinary Trifecta Winner

Brian Jackson, Margot Café

Writers Choice

What do chili, hot chicken and bloody marys have in common? This BON calendar year, it’s Margot bartender Brian Jackson, who swept 37206’s three most heated cooking throwdowns and took home the plaque/trophy/swag from the East Nashville Chili Bowl, the Music Hot Chicken Festival Amateur Cooking Competition (with the Atomic Yardbirds Team) and the Tomato Art Festival Bloody Mary Contest. His secret? Using garden-grown chipotle peppers and sticking to the basics. “Don’t reinvent the wheel. Or the bloody mary.”
