Art Through the Eyes of Autism at Vanderbilt's Kennedy Center

In 1944, Hans Asperger published his study of the syndrome that bears his name. The first scientist to link the word autism to the particular symptoms of his subjects, the good doctor empathized and identified with the children he studied. Asperger famously went on to say, "For success in science and art a dash of autism is essential." In this collaboration between the Kennedy Center and the Autism Society of Middle Tennessee, artists living with autism have been invited to exhibit their new work. Tonight's reception serves as a kick-off for the Autism Society's monthly educational workshop.
Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays. Starts: April 2. Continues through July 31, 2009
