Art at the Woodlawn Courtyard

A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream
What could be better on a lazy summer evening than hanging out on the cobblestone patio of a courtyard in a lovely historic home, sipping wine and nibbling cheese? We'll tell you: hanging out on the cobblestone patio of a courtyard in a lovely historic home, sipping wine and nibbling cheese while taking in the work of eight local artists: Chels Pickard, Peggy Snow, Cale Jones, Kat Dickie, Joel Batey, Dan Carr and, last but not least, Corey Stephens, who's been kind enough to offer his home for the evening. A brief survey of the work of Snow, Stephens and Jones in particular reveals a common thread: colorful, swirling brushstrokes and thickly applied paint that create a sensual feast reminiscent of van Gogh's later works.
