Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves at the Library

Open Sesame

Open Sesame
Although it remains unclear whether this classic story of magic, treasure and adventure was one of the original tales that made up One Thousand and One Nights, it is arguably the most popular. The story of Ali Baba, the eponymous thieves and their Cave of Wonders is a timeless yarn of bravery, booty, greed and grit that is perfectly suited to the magical marionettes created by Wood and Strings puppet-makers Clarissa Lega and Leon Fuller. Will Ali Baba steal the thieves' treasure? You'll have to hurry if you want to find out. The production closes today. Running time is 40 minutes.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: April 17. Continues through May 9, 2009
