This event continues the Art Makes Place lecture series with a talk that artist Adrienne Outlaw considers to be the first public phase of an ongoing project entitled The Enhancer. Outlaws latest effort began as a discussion about the ethics of pharmaceutical enhancement between teens, college students, lawyers, doctors, philosophers and other professionals. Outlaw hopes The Enhancer project will prompt and sustain a local dialog about the ramifications of Americas obsession with better living through chemistry. Tonights panel of medical, academic and law experts will discuss the provocative content of Outlaws project, which includes an interactive public blog, 1,000 brain-shaped viewfinders that will be distributed throughout Nashville and an installation that will join the rest of the Art Makes Place public exhibit at the Downtown Library this October.
