A publicist and executive at Nashville’s Dark Horse Institute music production school, Carolan Trbovich is also the brains behind this new entertainment venture intent on promoting cabaret. Here, the intimacy of the form combines with the bold sound of Broadway, as singer and actress Eden Espinosa (Wicked, Rent) pays a visit to Middle Tennessee, singing older and newer standards and songs from a recent album release. Some Music City theatergoers will remember that Espinosa played the Fairy Godmother in the 2011 Nashville Symphony Orchestra concert version of Cinderella alongside fellow Wicked alum Alli Mauzey. This evening’s emcee is Johnny Rodgers, a singer, pianist and arranger who has toured with Liza Minnelli, performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and — in yet another Nashville connection — served as musical director for the pre-recorded score of Sue Fabisch’s Motherhood: The Musical, which began life locally in a reading at Darkhorse Theater.
