Boiler Room Theatre plans to stay busy for the holidays, and their first offering is this family-oriented musical based on a series of 1970s books by the late Caldecott Medal-winning children’s book author Arnold Lobel. Lobel’s daughter Adrianne conceived the idea to draw upon the four Frog and Toad volumes for material, and the show was produced on Broadway in 2003 with book, music and lyrics by Willie and Robert Reale. Cheerful Frog (Flynt Foster) and grumpy Toad (Sondra Morton) experience the four seasons, from winter sledding to planting a spring garden, from summertime swimming to raking leaves in the fall, learning lessons along the way about people and friendship. The supporting cast features Lisa Gillespie, Josh Lowery and Vicki White. Dan McGeachy directs.
