A Survey of Works by Paul Harmon at Terrazzo

One-Part Harmony

One-Part Harmony
Even before Zeitgeist Gallery moved to Hillsboro Village or the Frist Center opened its doors, while Untitled was little more than a few friends trying to start an art scene, Paul Harmon's work was on display on nearly every available wall in town. While that's a bit of an exaggeration, Harmon's stylized, pastel portraits have earned him an international reputation, and an upcoming biography has inspired this new survey of his decades-long career. While the show may be a great primer for neophytes, we're hoping for another look at Harmon's work from his show at Zeitgeist earlier this year. Featuring a greater attention to surface and a more gestural line, the new paintings find Harmon still pushing boundaries even as his lifelong accomplishments are accounted for and celebrated.
