In one of the ballsiest ad campaigns of recent years, the city of Las Vegas has embraced rather than fought its sleazy reputation under the slogan, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” The campaign portrays the Rat Pack’s winter palace as a cheater’s paradise where anything goesand it’s working. So how does Nashville get a piece of that action? We hear our own Chamber of Commerce has been eyeing similarly edgy slogans. Among them:
♦ “What happens on Dickerson Road stays on Dickerson Road.”
♦ “Nashville. Where L.A. goes to die.”
♦ “Redefining 'legal age’ since 1807.”
♦ “Don’t let all the Baptists fool you.”
♦ “Big bronze penises for all the world to see.”
♦ “Hepatitis-free since November!”
♦ “Cheapest lap dances in the Southeast.”
♦ “Hey, we’ve got one-armed bandits.”
♦ “Who needs tourists?”
