TODD AUSTIN, a.k.a. "Toddzilla"
What do you do, Mr. Zilla? I'm the head funk meister in the funk rock band The Jones. I also play in the Disciples of Loud along with Warner Hodges. During the day, I'm the guitar guru at Corner Music.
How do you like to rock? I like to rock with some funk. In my own band, it's as if George Clinton's bus crashed into Van Halen's. In the Disciples, well, that's a hard fast turn-it-up-and-duck approach.
What music do you make love to? Something slow; I'm gettin' kinda old.
Washing the car or cleaning house? Probably P-Funk or Prince, something I can get moving to. Of course, a good healthy dose of AC/DC never hurts.
How did the hairstyle evolve? Gravity is different in The Jones world. Driving with the top down on Betty (1964 Stingray) plays a part. The hair gets lots of attentionit's real popular with the camera phone crowd.
If you were a carpenter and your hair was a tool, what tool would it be? A buzz saw, the loudest tool in the box.
But technically, it's not a mullet? It's just a large mane pulled back on the sides, smoke stack on top, not a mullet.
Does it have a name? I'll just call it the Zilla.
What's the coolest compliment ever received about the hair? George Clinton walked up to me once and said, "I dig your hairdo, brother."
