A Face in the Crowd

Is Elvis Jr. your real name? Yes, that's really who I am. I'm the love child of Elvis Presley.

How exactly did that happen? Well, Elvis was a teenager and so was my mom, and I was the end result of that.

Do you consider yourself an Elvis impersonator? No. Now I've been in some videos and movies as an extra. I was featured in a video of "Blue Moon of Kentucky" in honor of my dad. I also had a speaking role in Against the Wall, which was directed by John Frankenheimer, but now I want to record a CD because of this fake Elvis Jr. in Vegas that's invading my privacy.

What is your vision for the future of Nashville? Well, I think we have everything here to become the next Hollywood.

Is it true that you ran for Metro Council at one time? Yes, it is. I spent $75 and got almost 10,000 votes, and that's pretty good. Heck, if I'd spent a few more bucks, I would have won.

Are you still involved in politics? I hope to be working with the Kerry campaign here in Tennessee because I believe that the Democrats represent the middle class and the lower class better. I mean, those are the people that keep everything going. They make your phone work or cook your food at the diner.... As Jimmy Carter said many years ago, "This is no time for Armageddon." Bush has so deteriorated our reputation around the world that, with four more years of him, it'll be WWIII.
