It should not just be the big box stores but also the corner markets, usually a small businessperson, which can offer wine.

If you don't think prices will drop, compare the prices here to Missouri which has less government regulation--it's noticeably lower.
I went to Springfield MO on SUNDAY CHRISTMAS Day 2011.

Pete3397: Kroger and most other large chains will most likely use the same distributors that liquor stores do, because of limited warehouse space and ease of delivery and stocking. Other than that I agree with letting liquor stores be more competitive.

accipiter: being "offended" by wine on shelves is really not a very good reason for not allowing it in grocery stores.

How about allowing wine sales in grocery stores but giving non-grocery outlets already in existence some extra consideration, perhaps longer hours or the ability to sell on Sundays and holidays, or maybe the ability to sell beer, that would make it a bit easier for them to compete. And how about allowing a single owner to operate more than one store.

Let them sink or swim!
Isn't that "free enterprise" "capitalism" and all the other gods the Right gives lip service to.
