Allen Doty, co-owner of Cumberland Transit, an outdoor equipment and clothing store on West End Avenue, doesn’t like the East-West Connector, particularly because his business would lose on-street parking under the bus proposal.

“You can nuke the bus project from my vote,” said Doty, who was not among those speaking at the public hearing.

The BRT team was supposed to get 15-20 minutes to present, followed by Q/A & public commentary.

They couldn't get two uninterrupted minutes strung together.

How about parallel routes for the buses combined with mini-transit that covers the area between those two major arteries?

Metro could invest in vans and cabs for rush hours and then reallocate them for other transit activities.
