I haven't heard anyone posit an "all regulations are good" argument on this site, Mark. I only hear people reacting to the "all regulations are bad" position of the Republican establishment, which is a patently absurd position, because no one in their right mind would argue that clean air and water regs, consumer safety regs, and worker safety regs are "bad".

There are times when Pith and the Tea Party are so much alike it is genuinely frightening. The 'all regulations are bad' and 'all regulations are good' positions demonstrate a shared reliance on ideology rather than evidence and a serious lack of judgement on both extremes.

The one achievement of both sides is to make it almost impossible to support reasonable regulations, particularly ones that need to be abolished once a problem is solved.
