      <![CDATA[Not to beat a dead thread, but I had my first experience at The Catbird Seat last night, partially funded by my sister (and co-diner) for my 30th birthday.<br>
<br>
For background, I'm a high school teacher, so I'm not rich. However, when I do eat out, I eat at locally-owned places whenever I can.

      <![CDATA[While Arnold's and other long-standing, egalitarian meet-n-3 eateries haven't gone all Whole Foods, the convergence of the resurgence of Southern food and other food trends (local sourcing, etc.) have already resulted in lots of Nashville restaurants heading that way. You can't swing a cat in Nashville without hitting a restaurant with a menu that has Southern- or Southern-influenced cuisine that trumpets Benton's Bacon or Devlin Farms produce or whatever.

      <![CDATA[My vote for best meat & 1, 2 or 3 is At The Table on 12th Ave. They use little sodium and have the best turnip greens in town. Like Arnold's also,  but less since his son has taken the recipie reins.
