      <![CDATA[Ugh, sadly, I just heard from the Sumner County Archives and according to their records, Allenwood burned down in the late 1800s, but was out in the Odoms Bend area.<br>

These maps list various districts of Sumner County and the people who own land or lived in those areas. Probably like finding a needle in a haystack to figure out where exactly these areas are, but there are a couple Allen's on this District 12 map.

      <![CDATA[Perhaps Sherman on his march or some of those slaves burned it to the ground during the Civil War, or it just fell into disrepair and rotted away on it's own when all of the "free" labor was "freed".

      <![CDATA[After a little research, it appears that the plantation was actually called "Greenwood" and according to the information I read, it was located in Carthage. "About a mile and a half northwest of town up the Old Battery hill and through a wooded drive, flanked on either side by beautiful hills, one came upon Greenwood.
