      <![CDATA[@Terence - I've always thought of a calzone as a cheese-only stromboli, but I never thought to investigate the actual difference. Regardless, I'm quite happy with the calzones at NYPie and both Houses of Pizza.

      <![CDATA[Lesley I love CL, but if I'm gonna make quiche, I'm gonna do something close to the real thing. I have made successful ones with whole milk rather than cream or half-and-half, though, and you can be careful with the cheese quotient.

Me: "Well, I found this great recipe from Cooking Light..."<br>
L-n-N: "I'm going to stop you right there."<br>
<br>
I heard the word "cream" and zoned out. I don't want to know how much fat and calories are in a good quiche.<br>
<br>
And I will make french toast, but without a good electric skillet, no pancakes.

      <![CDATA[Back in the 80s I worked for a couple of different eating establishments & made quiche every day. It's really not that hard, but there are a lot of bad ideas about what constitutes quiche and a LOT of bad recipes out there -- even ones that are "highly rated."
