I am not certain that your goal is achievable. I think highly of Dr. Register but the magnet schools are too important to the image of MNPS to be denied whatever they want.

The magnet schools seemed like such a good idea at the time, and there have been a lot of students who have benefitted from them.

I totally agree. The best use of charters is for students trapped in seriously under-preforming schools.
