I played there many nights in the early Aughts, driving all the way out from Murfreesboro to play on a school night, opening for the likes of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Peelander Z, The Low Budgets and The Show is the Rainbow - often times playing the exact same 5 people each time. I was also the victim of many double bookings.

This is kinda sad as the young people of nashville need a place like this. I've only been to the muse once for an awesome toasters show and rightly decided it was a shithole as the floor was covered in unidentifiable puddles.Then I noticed all the 13-17yr old kids who were having a blast and loved the place and it brought me back to my lucy's record shop days and to a much lesser extent indienet which just didnt have that vibe . So never fear another all ages venue will pop up.

I don't see why there is SO much negativity, sure things can always go wrong, but that is anywhere. I played my first show there and saw A LOT of great shows there as well.

I always loved/hated The Muse. It was a place where my old band Misplaced My Zombie could feel like a semi-important no name band that could make a good $50 bucks.

I saw a whole lot of shitty hardcore and pop-punk and emo and whatever the hell there in my formative years. I still think I've seen Evergreen Terrace at The Muse more times than I've seen any other band at any venue, and each of those shows probably occurred before I was 20 years old.
