@mr. pink - I've stated this privately but want to reassure you publicly that yes, the end credits of THERE WILL BE BLOOD are hilarious. I was lucky to see it for the first time at home rather than in a theater, because I cracked up.

Don't forget the musical version of Hamlet that the castaways of Gilligan's Island staged to convince stranded producer Harold Hecuba to put Ginger in his next movie (obviously it didn't work out). It used music from "Carmen" and "The Tales of Hoffman," and I still can't listen to any of the tunes without thinking of the Hamlet lyrics.

Can't hear the Schubert Piano Trio in E Flat without thinking of BARRY LYNDON, or Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major without getting flashbacks to IRREVERSIBLE (shudder — it now has the same effect on me that the ol' Ludwig Von has on post-treatment Alex in CLOCKWORK ORANGE).

More recently: the Smetana "Moldau" montage in TREE OF LIFE just devastated me every time I saw it. Am I wrong for laughing the moment Brahms' Violin Concerto in D Major kicks in after Daniel Day Lewis has slurped the last of Paul Dano's milkshake at the end of THERE WILL BE BLOOD?

Another favorite: the Carl Orff piece used in BADLANDS (and reused in TRUE ROMANCE).
