      <![CDATA[You could also mention (but, frankly, shouldn't) last year's Graveyard Shift film festival entry "Tontine Massacre," which was about a reality show that turns into a bloodbath after their ship wrecks. Man, what an atrocity that movie was.<br>
<br>
Also, I think if you're going to see this movie (or reading this book) for the violent content, you're kinda missing the point.

      <![CDATA[There's not much graphic violence in the book, and I'd argue that as any kind of anti-war/violence statement, it's already compromised. My major complaint about the book — which I just finished about four hours ago, and really enjoyed — is the same one Bilge makes about the movie: it dodges the moral implications it sets up, which are the most disturbing and interesting part of the premise.

      <![CDATA[Why do the vast majority of media reports on THG focus only on the connections to Battle Royale and not The Long Walk and The Running Man? I can (sorta) believe that Collins was unfamiliar with BR, but not TLW & TRM. <br>
