I think Lesley's point is that she is buying food based on quality and taste, and that some of it happens to come from food trucks.

Also: Voting on the regulations has been deferred for another month.
I think this is the biggest issue for Metro to wrestle with in terms of public parking on public streets and what is fair to those who have the brick-mortar commitment and costs, because some of those costs are mandated by regulation due to their business. It's one thing to drive to an out of the way location and bring fantastic food to a desert, and that will no doubt deserve whatever premium its quality and service merit.

S L, the reason (twofold) that I am happy to pay food truck prices is:

1) They move. SO, whereas any one truck is generally far out of my demesnes, occasionally something unusual turns up in MY neighborhood, close to work, and I get a new thing to try, while only having to drive for 3 minutes.

2) BECAUSE they move, they add variety to the local scene.

most ridiculous trend in Nashville: the prices sheep are willing to pay for food cooked and served out of vehicles with no brick and mortar overhead, no wait staff, and no place for you to go eat. Are all > $10 lunches equal ? Better question: Are all > $10 lunch buyers equal ? Some of them might be "actually smart enough to bring folding chairs" but apparently not smart enough to ask why they have to when paying those prices.
