The very same purpose behind making damn sure, now that the GOP controls the election machinery in this state, that there is no system of verifiable paper ballots that might be used in case a recount is needed. We must trust electronic voting machines, easily hacked, easily tampered with, with no possible way to verify--even as you are in the voting booth, much less at the end of the day--that you are really voting for who you want to vote for.

This 90+ year old black woman is exactly the target for this law, and the GOP can take comfort, I suppose, in knowing that the law is working exactly as they hoped it would.
