      <![CDATA[I'm pretty sure I just got food poisoning from pink pork. I don't know what temperature they were cooked at but I got sick pretty much 8 hours after eating it and it was my last meal of the day.

      <![CDATA[@JA, check thermoworks--they make, like, hundreds of thermometers (I tested one that went to 1000!). I know i tested a probe thermo (you leave it in the meat while it cooks) that was $35 and they have specials every few months.

      <![CDATA[You're right JA, the cheapest I've seen is $93.00. But if you can avoid one case of food poisoning without having to cook all your food until it's gray, it's worth it.<br>
<br>
Plus the instant read feature is so helpful over a hot grill or in a frying pan full of oil, I figure I've saved money on Bactine and bandaids.<br>
