Racetrack supporters need to realize that the racetrack is so loud that it affects a much larger area than just the immediate area around the fairgrounds. It can easily be heard in Melrose, 100 Oaks, Woodbine and even Forest Hills.

To anyone who thinks this is about "saving the fairgrounds," guess what... it's about saving the racetrack, that's all. What a waste.

I heard that some large corporations have expressed an interest in moving to the property... but that these companies don't want the public relations nightmare that would come with being the company that forced the city shut down the fairgrounds.

Here is how the real world works.

Comments like the one from xmarx1 are intended to shut up the neighbors by implying that we shouldn't have a say in what is best for our neighborhood, but they also echo the sentiments that neighbors have been getting from racetrack operators for years. They seem to assert the vibe, "YOU DON'T MATTER".

Neighbors have invested in their community and want to see it thrive.

Unless they built the racetrack after he moved in, I have no sympathy for him. If you move into a neighborhood around a racetrack, you should know what you're getting yourself into.
