      <![CDATA[Dr. Ide has the right idea. With a numerical scale, even if you give a child a 40 in the first quarter, they would have to average an 80 for every other quarter.

      <![CDATA[This still happens in MNPS, and teachers are often pressured and even threatened to pass students who have not earned it. Grades are inflated, curves added, makeup work taken that is 8 weeks late, and even then teachers are still told that their failure rate is too high.

      <![CDATA[In my school system no one was held back in Elementry school, a few of the clowns were held back in middle school, and then in High School anyone falling behind was held back, I always thought that it would have been better to hold kids back earlier.

100-90: A<br>
89-80: B<br>
79-70: C<br>
69-60: D<br>
Below 60: F<br>
