Mark,
The film is basically the concert in its entirety (w/o the 2-minute breaks between songs). I was there on Thursday as well and recently had the pleasure of seeing the film.

The appeal of Neil Young is in his originality as a singer, songwriter and musician. I don't believe any other recording artist in the past 50 years can compare, quality-wise.

I'm a big Randy Newman fan also, but I don't consider him as relevant an artist today as Young - never a sell-out, and never compromising.

I have to say the appeal of Neil Young escapes me. I want to like him and think I should, but I just don't. That unstable highed-pitched voice doesn't work for me and I have trouble getting past it to get to the lyrics.

But then again, I'm a huge Randy Newman fan and I'm sure lots of folks have similar problems with him.
