When the Roundtable left WWTN it was in bankruptcy.

They bought their own station and tried to go that route.

Also Teddy walked out of WLAC. I wasn't a listener at the time but have been since the WWTN days.

They could definitely make it commercially during election cycles when the political ads come in.

As has been noted Valentine and Plaster's salaries are 6-figure.

Regarding Phil Valentine's salary ... This from the City Paper's story of his return to Nashville airwaves.

Valentine, who Nashville media analyst Robert Unmacht guessed would be able to command a $50,000 to $100,000 salary, quipped Wednesday that he and sideman Johnny B., a.k.a. John E. Bozeman, were happy to be paid $2 more than minimum wage.

I think if you look at their list of regular guests, you will also see most of their audience.

The show became too much of an insider show to have any broad appeal.

Rod has been misinformed regarding Crom Carmichael's absence from the Roundtable. Crom has declined to appear since Tommy Burnett claimed that Crom's opposition to Tennessee's law allowing illegal immigrants drivers' licenses was related to race.
