Well first of all the government can create jobs by providing ACTUAL government services at realistic levels. This skimping and cutting corners on education and infrastructure could be reversed while cutting back on frivolous, risky, and governmentally immoral items like the hospitality and meetings "industry".
Why blow a billion dollars on a small industry that is not even in the top 10 in Metri when you could be creating jobs providing actual government services to actual government constituencies?
Brilliant, the government employs people doing government work with government money for citizens and the hospitality (under)employs people with their revenues and at their risk to service their customers.

Where's the link for WSMV's coverage of the Antioch community meeting on the convention center proposal?
Just the other day Pith's Bruce Barry was bemoaning the lack of reliable sources of information on public opinion on MCC, yet, SouthComm has no one even scraping content on other media reports of community mtgs on MCC?
That was a grand and empty promise Chris Ferrell made at the Scene's assimilation that SouthComm would lead on local news coverage.
