According to http://www.freedict.com/onldict/spa.html (an online Spanish-to-English dictionary), "raza" means "breed, race".

According to the Wikipedia article you yourself cited, "la raza" means "the race".

You know what Marvin? It doesn't really make any difference whether it's "really" about race for some or even most of the people opposed to illegal immigration or not.

The bottom line is it's majority rule and the majority has a right to pass the laws for whatever reason they want it is the obligation of the government to enforce those laws - period.

And that majority has no obligation whatsoever to advocate or endorse policies that would result in themselves becoming a minority in their own country.
