Are you so sure they were the only ones targeted? Channel 4 did interviews last night with several other lawmakers who were apparently targeted by the sting, but didn't bite.

I would, but the establishment clause applies only to sentient beings. (Also, it is settled law, not that I like it, that legislatures and governing bodies can bathe themselves in self-aggrandizing prayer just about whenever they want.)

On the one hand, playing the race card to protect one's power and influence in government does not serve the African American community. In fact, it minimizes the real events of prejudice that happen to common people on an everyday level.

On the other hand, Power brokers Dixon and Ford would not have a race card to play if a long history of discrimination and segregation by white boys hadn't dealt it to them in the first place.

Also, has anyone noticed the lack of interest from the national media in this story? I've seen the story buried in the online and print media and haven't heard anything on the national broadcast news outlets.
