Hello Nashville Scene,

I just wrote you a letter suggesting you fire this lugubrious and acrimonious human being whose reviews seem to be biased by his own misery vs any intelligent insight into the works. I googled his name after he trashed a hilarious and witty play that the audience loved, where I am in Los Angeles.

One doesn't have to explicitly use derogatory terms to come off as racist or at the very least carry racist undertones, especially in writing. Now, if you look a few posts before yours, "mike" has posted the original text of this "review."

What will the American musical do for thematic material when the melting pot has completely turned to ethnic mush and no group is really underprivileged? And although, Mr. Ridley, you "explain" in your retraction how such WORDS could be used---it really doesn't address the larger problem here---it is not Mr. Brady's WORDS--- it is the racist, INTENT in the whole review.

Mr. Ridley my advice is to carefully choose your critics.Back to Mr. Brady ,if you call your edited version an apology its more like a double slap to the face to those wonderful hard working professional actors and to the Hispanic minority community . It seems like you don't appreciate what Hispanic talent has to offer or just see talent period. You sound like a white supremecist who doesn't like brown legged people with talent. I highly question your review, its obvious you understand little of what the show is truly about. Most people enjoyed the show including me.

Many of these posts have eloquently stated my feelings about this racist review, but I wanted to add my post too because I believe there is strength in numbers.

Now, regarding Mr. Brady: I'm sick and tired of "Bozos" who are constantly given platforms to speak their unqualified opinions.

I read the original "In the Heights" review by Brady that now you claim ran "by accident". Sounds like you have a racist as your theater reviewer.

      My Dear Mr. Brady,

I have been on tour with “IN THE HEIGHTS” for 18 months, and not once have I eve felt compelled to write back to a reviewer regarding his or her review of the show until now.

We have traveled across this continent with this “Tony Award Winning Production” and it has been a great honor. To share “this” particular slice of American life with America has been one of my proudest moments of my life as an American citizen.
