I usually do one thing with my smart phone at a meal, which is take a picture of what I'm eating. But only if I'm at a new restaurant or having a meal that's beautifully plated or a meal I want to remember. My friends have pretty much grown to expect this and some will often wait and ask if I want to take a picture of their plate, too.

In terms of doing anything else on my phone, I rarely ever have it out during a meal. If I'm at a casual coffee shop meet up or lunch with girl friends, we'll usually all pause to take a break and post to Twitter or Instagram, and it's understood. Dinners, though, my phone usually stays in my purse or pocket once my photo's been taken. I never interrupt conversation to play or browse on my phone.

Husband and I had a friend who *always* had his phone out, face up during meals and would constantly read texts that came through, sometimes replying to them, while we were talking with him! Notice the key word here - "had".

When I'm solo, I usually bring my kindle and read. A nice, short mini-vacation of sorts.

I'd love the details on Biscuit Love's Lindstrom salad. Perfect balance of salty cheese + acid (lemon?) with the shaved brussels, crunchy hazelnuts. Ugh. Now I'm hungry.

I'm so happy to see Sunset back on folks' radar. It was the locale of choice when the Husband and I were dating in college and wanted to celebrate something or just do a date night up right. It's been our go-to and top of the recommendations list for out-of-towners since we returned in '08. The Husband *always* (and I truly mean always) gets the VooDoo pasta while I'm usually swayed by one of the seasonal specials. I've not been since the new nightly specials menu has rolled out, but now that I know I'm sure I can convince said Husband to grab a Sunset dinner with me sometime soon. Thanks for the update + review, Lesley!
