Re: “Nashville Recap: 'Too Far Gone'

Juliette: "Those pillows are unisex!" + French / Italian mashup + Look of shock watching freaky foreign film = She Is The Best. Sort of an I Love Lucy vibe. Ashley Spurgeon recaps continue in their greatness.

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘It’s All Wrong, but It’s All Right’

Gary: Sheeeit, get a load of this here recap!! Dang there’s lotsa vernacular and whatnot. Hard to understand yo.

Other person in photo: Yep I ascertain it is plenty full o’ slang and modern person usages.

G: Made up symbols and sheeit. Whatever.

OPIP: No, not “whatever.” That’s what you said last month when when you made Branade de Morue using catfish. It was sucky, right? You gotta take action! Lean in!

G: What do I do? It is what it is. You can’t fight city hall. When the cat’s away the mice dance.

OPIP: These are truisms that are distracting us from our main mission.

G: ???

OPIP: We gotta protest. Otherwise it just keeps on like a giant landslide of modern stuff.

G: You’re right! We gotta point out the f**ed up vernaculars and middle-school sheeit cause they’re making money offa this and how can it be informative if you caint even understand it yo.

[Furiously begins typing]

“I do not understand why someone who thinks a recap should be done with vernacular of ignorant middle schoolers.”

OPIP: That’s a great opening sentence. But if you’re gonna comment on someone else’s vernacular usages and whatnot you do wanna make sure that your comment itself is impeccable and beyond reproach. You know, Gettysburg Address quality. Four score and all...

G: Well I don’t see any edits that need to be made in that sentence. In particular I really like my “I do not understand why someone who thinks a recap should be done” formulation.

OPIP: Yep that’s good stuff. Also I dug how you decided not to use “the” before vernacular. Who needs articles!!??! Keep goin!!!

[More typing]

“If you post something on the internet and assuming you're attempting to make a profit off of this due to all the ads; why not use normal words and at least proof read it before submitting.”

OPIP: Coherent! Also love the semi-colon, totally not an inappropriate way to use it!

G: I know right? Also, the voices inside my head and the Oxford English Dictionary are telling me that proofread is one word but I’m not listenin!

OPIP: Ironic!!!

[More typing]

“Hopefully, this site can find someone with better grammar skills than someone looking to be quirky and not informative.”

G: There, finished. That’ll show em!

OPIP: You rule dude.

G: Hmmm. Do you think anyone will question my use of “hopefully” because it really means that the site will, in a hopeful manner, find someone with better grammar skills and that’s sorta not what I was goin for?? Also somethin tells me that sentence structure is not 100 percent excellent...

OPIP: It’s perfect honey bunny. Perfect.

G: Yep, you're right, perfect.

[Hits submit button. Ignores edit button.]

G: Look at the clock. Where did the time go? And now to sleep, perchance to dream...

Re: “Nashville Recap: ‘It’s All Wrong, but It’s All Right’

About 75 laugh-out-loud lines (inc. medieval Deacon!!) and 50 percent of the comments = Rayna-daughter-which-is-which correction??!? Is this the slice of the audience that also is interested in the mixed-use-highrise / Cumberland deal plot line??? Recap is pure genius and if I ran the New Yorker there would be a nice fat contract in the mail to Nashville along with ideas for condos in the East Village (near subway stops)...
