It might interest the writer to know that the allure of a few million federal dollars persuaded Massachusetts education officials to abandon its already rigorous curriculum in favor of the less rigorous Common Core in order to curry favor with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and his misguided Race to the Top. Money will out, it seems.
