Cool...you corrected...you simply replaced Rick Danko with Richard Manual -- and kept the line "wide-eyed, lumbering pathos" as if you had ever actually heard either the original song or Richard Manual sing at all. Your slight renders this entire review meaningless. Wide-eyed and lumbering? Please, just listen. His tender falsetto soars and swells, each emotional word into the next -- eyes closed tight. I now question if "his guitar's remarkably rich tone showcased his sublimely understated finger-style playing" or if "the recipe owes much to the late Syd Barrett" in this review, and I expect more from the Scene and it's coverage of music in a town called "Music City".
Poor Richard...This entire review comes crumbling down when you credit Rick Danko as the lead singer on "Whispering Pines". What an over-sight to Poor Richard, one of the most beautiful and poignant voices in the history of rock & roll. You better know what you're talking about when you write things you want people to read!
