I would highly recommend this challenge. I believe that it provides in-depth information that you can't simply Google - Colleen has podcasts, videos, articles, and more especially made to help people transition to a vegan lifestyle. I am already vegan, but I plan on giving it as a gift to a friend who is interested. I think the best part is that the program educates you on being vegan without giving you a strict "breakfast, lunch, and dinner" menu to adhere to. There is one available if you want it, but if you don't want to follow it, the program provides you with the knowledge you need to create your own meals with whatever you have available and can afford.
I think the author of this article needs to give it a try. I'm sure it would be more effective in creating a lifestyle change than a juice fast! Being vegan is not necessarily as challenging as most people think - a lot of foods they enjoy are already vegan by default. I think this program aims to demystify veganism and show people that it doesn't have to be complicated. All it takes is a willingness to be re-introduced to food from a different perspective that emphasizes eating mindfully and compassionately.
