Re: “Nashville Catholic Organizations Raring to Go Back to Court

what would I suggest? I would suggest government get OUT of the health insurance and health care business completely. Because whenever government gets involved in anything, that "thing" becomes FAR more expensive, far more difficult to access, and far more open to corruption and nepotism.

Societies thrive when individuals are left FREE to pursue their separate interests. Government is necessary. Limited government is even more necessary.

Re: “Nashville Catholic Organizations Raring to Go Back to Court

Also, where do we get the idea that our employers should provide our health insurance? Do we expect them to buy our car insurance? What about our home insurance? Do we demand they pay for that, too? Shouldn't employees and employers be free to agree to simply exchange a competitive salary and the employee buy their OWN health insurance?

Re: “Nashville Catholic Organizations Raring to Go Back to Court

Betsy wrote - "You can't say "I'll pay you $50,000 to work for me, but know this — that $50,000 is mine and I think it's immoral for you to use it on birth control so I forbid you to use the salary I give you to pay for it."

Besty, the catholic church is doing no such thing and you know it. If an employee wants to use their salary to buy their own birth control, they are free to do so.

Where do we get this idea that we should be able to dictate to our employers what they will and will not cover under the group insurance plan???!!! Don't like the insurance coverage offered? THEN GET A JOB SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Re: “Tactical Response CEO Says He'll 'Start Killing People' Over Gun Control

when Mr. Yeager says "killing people", it's reasonable to believe he's talking about anyone who would try and deny him his 2nd amendment right rather than killing people indiscriminantly. Not sure if it's true, but I hear that Wyoming has proposed legislation - federal officers trying to take guns away from Wyoming citizens will be arrested and sentenced to 2 yrs in prison. That's good legislation. Let freedom ring.

The 2nd amendment was passed not so we can hunt deer and shoot skeets, but so we can protect ourselves from collectivist tyrants who believe they should be empowered to impose their ideas of "the greater good" on us. Government is necessary. Limited government is even more necessary.

Question for those of you who seem hellbent on controlling the lives of others - It's clear you support denying others their 2nd amendment right. Do you also favor denying high-powered rifles and high-cap magazines to law officers? If not, please explain why you feel the lives of law enforcement officers are more valuable than your neighbor's life?

Re: “Firearms and Gun Control: The Evidence

Did y'all know, according to FBI crime statistics, that violent crime in America is DOWN by 50% since 1992? (yeah, that includes shooting deaths)

Re: “Niceley Files Bill to Stiff-Arm New Federal Gun Laws

Do you believe a civilian's life is just as valuable as the life of a police officer or soldier?

Yeah, I do, too.

And do you believe that police officers and soldiers should be permitted to carry high-powered rifles and high-cap magazines for self protection?

Yeah, I do, too.

So...since we agree on those two things. Can you please explain to me why a civilian shouldn't be permitted to carry the same high-powered rifles and same high-cap magazines? Didn't you agree with me that the life of a civilian is just as valuable as the life of a police officer or soldier?

I support James Yeager's first amendment right just as much as I support his second amendment right. He showed a great deal of courage by speaking up like this.
