Re: “Video: Haslam Doesn't Seem Interested in Arming Teachers

It would seem that a review of gun laws and a stricter re-enforcement is out of the question. Yes what is going on is a tragedy, but we don't need to start acting like we are in the old west. And if more guns is the solution, then we need to start digging grave now. How can we expect any person, who just obtain ownership of a gun, to be competent to yield a gun? I am not referring to the standard training you receive from a gun store or gun club. I am speaking of the mental side of this equation. The mental training of the knowledge that once your remove the gun from the holster, that you are going to use it, your intention of protection and protect others, all with out thought or regrets. Hesitation will get people killed. You can spend minutes convincing your self that you can talk this through, it doesn't have to be this way, and get tripped up on thinking about what pulling the trigger means to yourself and himself and his friends and family, those minutes can have you on a slab. And what about the rise in health cost, if someone manages to pull the trigger? Has anybody thought about all the grief counseling?
